Apsilon Hotels awards contract to install 642-kW Solar PV system at Crowne Plaza in Peachtree City, Georgia
Apsilon Hotels Group has announced an ambitious plan for their Crowne Plaza Hotel to generate 25% of their electrical needs. Building the largest commercial rooftop solar PV system in Peachtree City, Georgia will accomplish this.
Completion of The 642-kW solar power generating system is scheduled in August of 2018.
Hiten Dawda, VP of Procurement at Apsilon Hotels LLC said, “This project further strengthens our commitment to using renewable energy and promoting a green environment.”
CEO Raj Patel added, “Our intent is to minimize the hotel’s environmental impact and carbon footprint by making the property more energy efficient and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.”
The Crowne Plaza Hotel invested in a full audit of energy-saving possibilities. The hotel’s location is prime for a solar system. Thus prompting a vision for a rooftop photo-voltaic installation. This project is the latest in a continued effort to reduce the carbon emissions at the Crowne Plaza in Peachtree City. The installations of Eaton energy efficient lighting/controls, Rinnai energy efficient water heaters, and water conserving fixtures are examples of already completed projects.
Alternative Energy Southeast (altenergyse.com), a company based in Georgia, has been contracted to build the solar panel system for Apsilon Hotels. This system will offset over 24,000 tons of carbon over its life; the equivalent of planting over half-a-million trees.
Upon completion, hotel guests will be able to see live data on an LED display in the lobby including solar power output. Also recorded is total energy generated from the time of installation and the equivalent greenhouse gas emissions saved.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 201 Aberdeen Parkway in Peachtree City, GA is owned and operated by Apsilon Hotels Group.
