Film in Peachtree City

Peachtree City may be a long way from Hollywood, but the film industry has made the trip! The journey started when the state of Georgia began offering a tremendous tax credit to companies producing feature films, television series, music videos and commercials, as well as interactive games and animation. The impact in Georgia has been significant and is still thriving today. The first major production in Peachtree City began in 2008 with the hit television series “Drop Dead Diva”. Although no longer in production, there are 6 seasons of the show and it can still be seen on the Lifetime channel. The largest film studio in the state of Georgia can be found just beyond Peachtree City in Fayetteville. Pinewood Studios has completed major motion pictures such as Antman, Captain America, and Guardians of The Galaxy. Pinewood studios is closed to the public, but several Hollywood movie stars have been spotted all over Peachtree City at local restaurants, stores, and playing golf.

Zombies and The Walking Dead have also made many appearances in Peachtree City and the surrounding areas – and they will keep coming! AMC has confirmed that they have renewed The Walking Deadfor several more seasons! The renewal is not too surprising, considering that the series is the number one show among adults 18-49. Because of its popularity, the Peachtree City Convention & Visitors Bureau enhanced the created a film tour to include more sites from TWD. The update also includes interviews with film studio executives from Raleigh Studios (home of The Walking Dead) as well as more behind the scenes information about the new Pinewood Studios (home to Marvel Comics ‘Antman’). Peachtree City can also be spotted in high-budget films such as ‘Sweet Home Alabama’, starring Reese Witherspoon, and ‘Joyful Noise’, starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton.
