Peachtree City has so many things to see and experience that you can easily spend your entire time here.

If you'd like to explore further though, there are more experiences to intrigue and inspire you just a few miles outside the city limits.

Take the two-hour Walking Dead Tour in nearby Senoia for a behind-the-scenes look at the show's most iconic sets: Sanctuary, Hilltop, the Heaps, Alexandria and Woodbury. Also, Georgia Tour Company in Senoia offers two walking tours devoted to The Walking Dead as well as a tour of locations in such series as Drop Dead Diva and films such as Fried Green Tomatoes and Fighting Temptations. While in Senoia, sign up for a bike ride through the countryside, led by the folks at Senoia Bicycle.

Just outside Peachtree City, stop for a photo op at picturesque Starr's Mill, built in 1907, which was the set for the glass-blowing shop scenes in the movie Sweet Home Alabama.

In the evening, grab your tickets to a production at the outdoor Serenbe Playhouse in nearby Palmetto and enjoy immersive theater.

Step into 16th Century England, April through June, at The Georgia Renaissance Festival in nearby Fairburn, less than 30 minutes away.

If you're a racing fan, you'll want to venture over to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton. When there isn't a race or other special event scheduled, you can sign up for a speedway tour that includes a brief track history, a visit to Petty Garden, a tour of an Atlanta Motor Speedway suite, a sneak peek at the garages and Victory Lane, and three laps in the Speedway van around the same 1.54-mile track that stars like Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch race on. While you're so close to Jonesboro, stop in at the Road to Tara Museum which boasts items from the movie and book, Gone With The Wind, along with artifacts from the Civil War.

If there are thrill-seekers in your bunch, you can get excited over the 11 heart-pounding roller coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia, off 1-20 west of Atlanta.

Peachtree City is usually 25-30 minutes from the attractions of downtown Atlanta, so explore the Capital of the South with Peachtree City as your base. On the way into the city, get an up-close look at historic aircraft dating back to the 1920s at the newly renovated Delta Flight Museum. See Centennial Olympic Park and its famous ring fountain, tour CNN Center to get an inside look at how a live news broadcast is produced and aired, experience the world beneath the waves at the Georgia Aquarium, explore the real stories behind the world's most famous beverage brand at the World of Coca-Cola, marvel at the major artworks on display at The High Museum of Art, visit the final resting places of such notable people as author Margaret Mitchell and golfer Bobby Jones at Historic Oakland Cemetery, or see the giant pandas at Zoo Atlanta, founded in 1889, and one of the 10 oldest zoos in the U.S.
